If you find that too many results are shown when browsing or searching you can use Filter Bar to specify more search criteria and hone in your results.
Filter Bar does not replace the existing Filters functionality but using them in conjunction can be confusing for your users. If you wish to replace your existing Filter options with Filter Bar please follow the instructions in our article on transforming your existing filters.
The attributes that appear in the Filter Bar are controlled by admin users and can be configured from the Admin > Attributes > Display Attributes area under the Browsing or Searching tab. If you are an admin user you will also see the 'Add filters' option in the Filter Bar.
When there are no attributes configured then only the default "Keywords" filter will be available. This is a general search that searches for a phrase across all attributes, similar to how a quick search or advanced search works.
The attribute types which are currently supported by Filter Bar are Text, Datepicker, Dropdown, Checklist, Optionlist, Datetime and Numeric.
