Enabling Auto Tagging
Auto Tagging is enabled in Admin > System > Auto Tagging Settings.
The following settings are available:
- Enable Auto Tagging: (Yes/No)
- Auto Tagging tolerance: Defaulted to 50 with a minimum of 0 and maximum of 100, this value changes the accuracy of keyword extractions. Lower values result in more tags with less accuracy, a higher value results in fewer tags but with increased accuracy. Adjust this setting until you find a value that works best for your usage.
- Monthly request limit: Displays the number of your monthly request allowance. This value can be viewed only. If you wish to change your limit please get in touch with our Customer Support team.
- Requests this month: Displays the number of requests made so far in this calendar month.
Configuring Auto Tagging
Auto Tagging is configured by mapping one or more of the following new Embedded Metadata Mapping types to either a Text Area or Keyword Picker attribute type for population by Auto Tagger:
- Auto Tagging: Object tags
- Auto Tagging: OCR tags
- Auto Tagging: Face
Example 1 - Mapping Auto Tagging: Objects to a Keyword Picker attribute
This example assumes users can automatically add new keywords to master lists upon upload/update (keyword-auto-add). If you're unsure or need this function enabling please contact Customer Support.
- In Admin > Attributes add a new Keyword Picker attribute, name it 'Auto Tags (Objects)', then save.
- Ensure this attribute is visible upon upload & browsing in Admin > Attributes > Display Attributes.
- If you have the Asset Types feature enabled, remember to also select this new attribute for use with any applicatory asset types.
- In Admin > Attributes > Embedded Metadata Mappings add a new mapping type as shown below:
- Upload an image to test the mapping. You should see the Auto Tags (Objects) attribute is populated with new object keywords. Once saved, these keywords will be added to the master list for this keyword attribute.
Example 2 - Mapping Auto Tagging: OCR to a Text Area attribute
- In Admin > Attributes add a new Text Area (Long) attribute, name it 'Auto Tags (OCR)', select Keyword Search Links, add ',' (comma) as a keyword delimiter, then save.
You should see The Auto Tags (OCR) attribute is populated with new keywords retrieved from the image. Once saved, these tags will be added to your text area attribute and each delimited value will be displayed as a searchable link.
- Once enabled & configured, Auto Tagging can be used during a single or bulk upload. It can also be used to tag assets that already exist on your Asset Bank by performing an embedded metadata re-extraction in Admin > Attributes > Embedded Data Mappings > Rerun metadata extraction for existing assets
Example 3 - Mapping Auto Tagging: Face to a Dropdown attribute
- In Admin > Attributes add a new Dropdown attribute, name it 'Auto Tagging (Face)', then save.
- Go to [edit list values] and add a new value Yes with the Embedded data mapping value set to face|faces.
- Add another value for No without including any mapping.
- Ensure this attribute is visible upon upload & browsing in Admin > Attributes > Display Attributes.
- Edit the Auto Tagging (Face) attribute so that the Default value is No
- If you have the Asset Types feature enabled, remember to also select this new attribute for use with any applicatory asset types.
- In Admin > Attributes > Embedded Metadata Mappings add a new mapping type as shown below:
Upload a test asset with a face in it and you should see the Auto Tagging (Face) attribute is set to Yes.
