As part of our ongoing mission to modernise and improve your experience with Asset Bank, we’re excited to share a preview of some of the upcoming updates to the user interface. These changes are designed to make the platform cleaner, more intuitive, and easier to navigate — all while retaining the functionality you rely on.

Updated Navigation Bar

We’ve reimagined the main navigation panel to create a smoother and more modern browsing experience:

• New hover-to-expand behaviour: The navigation column now expands automatically when you hover over it — no need to click a menu button to open or close it. 
• Simplified design: Icons and layout have been streamlined for clarity and ease of use.
• New default look: The default theme now uses a clean white background with grey icons and text for a more modern appearance. If you have existing navigation theming it will remain the same.
• Responsive design: On mobile, tablet, and touch-enabled devices, a menu toggle will appear to maintain easy access.

• Menu pin: If you prefer to have the navigation open at all times, you can click the 'pin menu' button at the base of the navigation to always show it open. You can make this the default setting in Admin > System > Browse Settings > Expand nav bar by default?.
  
  

Smarter Folders Panel

The folders area has been completely redesigned to improve consistency and readability:

• Clearer titles and counts: Folder titles and asset counts now appear below the folder panel, preventing overlap with cover photos and ensuring neat alignment.
• Smart tooltips: Long folder titles will now gracefully truncate — and when you hover over them, the full title will appear in a helpful tooltip.

Refined Header

We’ve made small but meaningful tweaks to the top section of the application:

• Improved spacing: The header has slightly more padding for better logo placement and visual balance.
• Consistent actions: Elements like the lightbox, language selector, help, and profile menu now share a unified design with improved dropdowns and improved tooltip design.

Modernised Tabs

We’ve introduced a lighter and more compact style for tabbed sections throughout the platform, making navigation within pages feel more seamless and uncluttered.

Subtle UI Refinements

We’ve also made several minor enhancements across the interface to improve the overall look and feel, including:

• Typography
• Shadows and icon styling
• Colour palette updates
• Page padding
• Tooltip consistency
