How to control how keyword lists are managed
Using the admin-only-can-edit-keyword-list setting
If you want only admins to be able to edit keyword lists, then you should set admin-only-can-edit-keyword-list=true in your ApplicationSettings.properties file. This is the default value for new installations.
However, if you would like non-admin users to be able to edit keyword lists as well, set this to false and read the next paragraph to find out how to control which users will have this permission.
Note: If you change this setting's value in your configuration file, you will need to restart Asset Bank for the change to take effect
Using group permissions
Applies to versions greater than or equal to 3.1638.37
If you have set admin-only-can-edit-keyword-list=false, then non admin users are able to edit keyword lists. To choose which users are able to do this, you should make sure you have set the correct attribute visibility for each keyword attribute.
Find out more about Group attribute visibility
Users can edit keyword lists, if they belong in a group which has the attribute visibility for the keyword attribute set to "visible when editing and viewing". This means they are able to view the attribute and add new keywords to the keyword master list.
Please note that if the permissions are set to 'not visible' then users will not be able to view the keyword attribute and therefore cannot add new keywords to the master list. If the permissions are set to 'visible when viewing' then the users will be able to view which keywords someone with editing permissions has applied, but will not be able to choose their own keywords for an asset.
Group attribute visibility considers all groups that the user belongs to and the least restrictive permissions apply. Make sure that you restrict attribute visibility to the "Logged-in users" and "Public" group.
