If your Asset Bank is configured to integrate with SSO you can map SSO groups to Asset Bank Groups. This allows for users to be assigned to their correct Groups without any admin effort.
How it works
When a user is authenticated via SSO, Asset Bank will retrieve the group parameter which has been mapped in the Identity Provider (please refer to the SAML options in the SSO knowledge base article) and automatically assign the user to Groups matching the 'Remote Group(s)' mapping.
Configuring group mappings
When adding or editing an Asset Bank Group in the Admin > Groups area, you can specify the groups name of one or more remote groups in the Remote Group(s) box.
The default delimiter for multiple remote groups is %% but this can be changed by our Customer Support Team if required.
If you want all SSO users to be added to a Group, you can use the default wildcard *. Again, this can be changed by our Customer Support Team.
Remote group mapping in Asset Bank
- Log in to Asset Bank as an admin user, navigate to Admin > Groups
- Select edit for the group you want to map to your SSO groups
- In the Remote Group(s) field enter the group name used for the associated group in your SSO provider and click save.
