Asset Bank supports the use of hyperlinks as an attribute type. These can be used to create links to external sites via anywhere where these attribute values appear in Asset Bank. In this example we'll create a hyperlink attribute type and use it to link to an external site via an asset view page.
1. Navigate to Admin > Attributes then scroll to the bottom of your existing attribute list & click 'Add a new attribute'
3. Select 'Hyperlink' from the attribute type dropdown menu, as shown here:
4. Name the attribute using the label field, check 'highlight on view' if you'd like this link to be more visible on the asset view page, then save.
5. If you have more than one asset type, you'll need to ensure that this new attribute appears on the edit screen of all the asset types on the system of which you'd like this to appear (within Admin > Asset Types)
6. You may also need to re-index your assets to ensure this new attribute field appears for them (do this in Admin > Attributes)
7. Now edit an asset and you'll see the hyperlink field, and underneath a button to verify a working link.
Note that you need the full URL for the link to work, i.e https://www.assetbank.co.uk. Entering only www.assetbank.co.uk will not create a working link.
8. Click save and your working hyperlink will appear in the asset's attribute list
