How does it work?
1) Select the right Asset Type (if configured)
Note, many Asset Bank sites only have one type of asset - so the selection part is not required.
2) Upload your files
Drag and drop or browse to select.
3) Start entering common metadata straight away
You don't have to wait for all your files to upload to enter metadata that is common to the set, e.g. selecting a few common keywords and choosing the folder they should all go into.
4) Deal with any duplicates
Any duplicate files are highlighted immediately for review.
Note, if you are using perceptual hashing (visual matching) for duplicate detection, then the messaging here is different. It suggests that you review potential duplicates before choosing to discard any.
5) Select multiple assets to add more metadata
You can now select sets of assets and append more metadata to these. This as a completely new feature that should make it faster and more intuitive to tag files.
6) Step through individual assets to add any unique metadata
You can select a single asset to edit or you can click on a preview to enter 'zoom mode'. Here you can see more detail to help you tag the file. You can then progress sequentially via the previous and next controls (on the metadata panel or the file preview itself). Tip: moving through using previous and next also saves any changes to your metadata.
7) Submit your assets
Once your files have enough metadata (with mandatory fields complete) you will see a green thumbs up in the top right hand corner of the preview panels. Select your assets and click the submit button.
You can also choose to "Submit for approval" or "Keep in My Uploads" if preferred.
You have now completed your upload and tagging work.
We then complete some final processing before your assets become visible to users with the relevant permissions.
