We've added the ability for admins to delegate folder creation to user groups. This can be accessed by editing a user group, going to the "Upload, edit and delete" tab and setting it there. Note, users will need to have upload or edit permission for the given folders for this to be set (otherwise the box stays greyed out). This is because you can only create a new folder when uploading or editing assets currently.
Once set, members of these user groups will be able to create new sub-folders during the upload process like this:
They can also create sub-folders when editing assets (if they have edit permission).
Current Limitations
Users cannot
- Edit folder names
- Add folders directly from browse pages
- Re-order folders
- Add top level 'root' folders
