We've introduced a smooth new upload experience for Asset Bank. What's new?
✔ A fresh, modern look and feel
✔ Upload assets in the background while you tag them
✔ Save time by tagging multiple assets during one upload
If you'd like to try it out, click the button below or visit the upload page and click the pop-up.
If you decide you prefer the older version, you easily can switch back by clicking 'about the new uploader' on the upload screen. If you have any problems seeing the new uploader or you'd like to give us some feedback, please get in touch with our support team.
Uploading Assets
Drag and drop assets from your local machine into the upload window or use the 'Browse files' button to open a browser window.
Thumbnails/Previews are generated as a background process and the asset tiles update when the thumbnail is generated.
Adding Metadata
Assets marked with a yellow pencil icon have incomplete required fields in the metadata. Clicking 'Edit' at the top of the page will allow you to update the metadata for all assets at the same time. Alternatively, you can select one or more assets to update in a batch update.
When all of the required metadata fields have been populated, the assets will have either a green tick if the metadata is complete or a blue tick if the metadata is incomplete. Assets with incomplete metadata can still be uploaded.
The attributes visible on upload are configured in the Admin > Attributes > Display Attributes > Uploader area.
Submitting Assets
Once your assets are uploaded and all mandatory metadata is added you will be able to submit your assets.
If you are using Asset Types, you will see a dropdown above the submit button. This means that you can upload a group of assets and submit them as different Asset Types.
If you have permission to do so you can submit assets to live. Otherwise, you will need to submit them for admin approval first.
If you have workflows enabled you will also see a 'Keep in my uploads' option. This allows you to save the assets into your upload area without making them visible to any other user. This is useful if you have metadata to add at a later date.
