Add the metadata people are searching on
Let's imagine that the results showed that over the last three months 50 users searched on the term 'Head Office', but no results were returned. Yet as an admin user I know I have photos of my head office building in Asset Bank, but the term 'head office' is not in any of the metadata fields (titles, descriptions, keywords, etc. ) for these assets. The solution would be to add this additional metadata to these assets, as we have found out that people often search on this term.
Upload content they are trying to find
Of course, users may just be searching for items that simply do not exist in the Asset Bank in question. E.g. you might see lots of people searching for the "Sales conference slide deck" - which has not been uploaded to the DAM. In these cases the admin user can decide whether or not it is useful to get hold of such material and upload it.
Add common miss-spellings as synonyms of existing keywords
If you notice that lots of users are consistently miss-spelling a word, you can potentially add this as a synonym of an existing keyword to ensure it still brings back the relevant assets. The keyword picker attribute (field) type in Asset Bank offers synonyms functionality.
What if I have AI Searching Enabled?
If you have AI Searching enabled, then you'll still be able to review failed 'metadata match' searches. I.e. searches that brought back zero results initially, but that AI Results might find great matches for. So it is worth considering this and checking the AI results for any common failed searches. As AI is good at generic searches (based on what it sees in an image without knowing your organisation), it's probably more likely that you will want to actually fix tagging for domain specific search terms that bring back zero results. I.e. searches that mention specific terms or product names that are particular to your organisation, that AI will not have knowledge of.
