Marketing email templates can be used when sending marketing emails or when sending an email upon sharing a lightbox. Although use of templates is similar for each of these purposes, there are a few differences described below:
Templates for Marketing Emails
When sending marketing emails, the full content of the email can be edited before sending. This means that a template can contain as much or little of the final content as is required. The template should contain the variable #recipients#, although if absent this will be added automatically when the email is edited before sending.
Templates for Shared Lightboxes
When sending an email to users with whom you are sharing a lightbox, you will be able to replace the subject of the template, but the body will be used from the template and cannot be replaced. However, a variable #message# can appear in the template body, and when sending the email this will be replaced with an optional message.
A template for shared lightboxes should contain the variable #url# somewhere in the body, as this will be replaced by a link to the shared lightbox.
