To enable lightbox publishing on your Asset Bank, set the setting publish-lightboxes to true.
Once enabled then the Admin > Publishing > Lightbox Publishing Actions page will list all current published lightbox actions created by users of the system. Items are added to the list by users in the system publishing their lightbox.
For each item in the list the admin user can republish the lightbox, unpublish it (i.e. remove the files from the publish location) or delete it altogether.
On this page is a link to 'Edit lightbox publishing template'. Clicking this link takes you to a page where you can define the location that lightboxes are published to. The default location is relative to the application in /images/assetbox. There is a setting in ApplicationSettings.properties 'publish-assetbox-location' which can be populated with an absolute path and this may be selected instead of the default location. If the custom setting is selected you also need to populate the Base URL.
Please ensure that the Simple Copy or FTP location has enough capacity to store the published lightboxes.
If you require users to agree to your terms and conditions before downloading assets from a published lightbox, please ensure that you make the following settings change:
show-terms-and-conditions-checkbox-on-published-assetbox=true
Please note that this functionality has been designed as a simple way to encourage users to accept your terms and conditions. It is not a security feature; a technically minded user might be able to circumvent the check.
As part of the default behaviour of this feature, the user will be presented with a link to view your Asset Bank terms and conditions in a popup window. In order for this to work, you must set your "application-url" setting, or edit the content item titled "Label : Published Lightbox Terms and Conditions label" to set a different url.
You can also specify which usage type to use when creating downloadable versions of assets in the lightboxes and whether to use an attribute to sub-categorise published files. Users will be able to select a subset or all of the sizes included in the usage type when they are publishing a lightbox. If the template usage type changes in the future, existing lightboxes will be re-published using all the allowed sizes of the new usage type regardless of the sizes the users chose when publishing initially.
Changing these settings will cause all existing published lightboxes to be unpublished and republished to the revised location.
When the original file is published for an asset the link text shown on the published assetboxes asset page will show the text 'Original file'. This link text can be customised by editing the link-original-file CMS item in the Admin > Content pages. Alternate versions of images will use download option names as their link text on the published assetbox asset page.
The settings displayed are based on asset bank publishing actions. To find out more about the location, usage type and attribute elements of a publishing action visit the publishing section .
Also on this page is a link to 'View/edit watermarks'. Existing watermarks used for published lightboxes will be listed on this page, they can be deleted and edited using the links to the right.
More information can be found here .
To set a custom logo for your published lightbox you need to put a custom logo file called logo.gif file in the images/assetbox directory (if that file isn't present then the system falls back to the default asset bank logo from /images/standard/asset_bank_logo.gif when publishing).
You should use a logo that will work on a white background as it is not currently possible to customise the background colour of your published lightbox.
You can also customise the content (label names, titles, introductory text etc.) that appears on published lightboxes by logging in as an admin user and editing the list items shown on the Admin > Content > Published Lightbox Copy page.
Clicking on the Update Lightbox Publishing Settings allows you to set a maximum offset of allowed expiry days. If this is set to 0 then any date can be set as any expiry date. Otherwise, the value represents how many days into the future the maximum expiry date will be. The default for this on new Asset Banks is 30 days, this means that by default all published asset box will expire and be cleaned up after 30 days.
