Asset Bank doesn't support the default codec for GoToMeeting recordings.
To save GoToMeeting videos in Asset Bank you can update your GTM preferences so that the video is recorded in a suitable format...
File > Preferences > Recording > Select 'Convert to Windows Media Player file' under the Video section
...or to store existing videos you can convert it to a supported wmv format...
Step One:
Download and install the gotomeeting codec.
Step Two:
Open the folder C:\Program Files\Citrix\GoToMeeting\[GoToMeeting version number]. There will be a file called "g2mtranscoder.exe".
Step Three:
Convert the video:
1/ Copy your GoToMeeting video into the directory that g2mtranscoder.exe is in.
2/ Open a command prompt (start -> run -> cmd).
3/ cd into the direct that the video is now in.
4/ Now, type the following at the prompt: "g2mtranscoder.exe source=[yourvideoname].wmv".
5/ This should have kicked off the conversion, but there is no visual indication of this. You can make sure it's working though - open Task Manager and click on Processes then sort by CPU usage, you should see the g2mtranscoder using a lot of your CPU.
It will take about 20-30 minutes for g2mtranscoder.exe to convert a one-hour long file to a generic WMV file.
6/ When the g2mtranscoder.exeprocess stops (i.e. it isn't in the list on your task manager anymore), the video in the directory should now be a converted version that is suitable for use in Asset Bank.
